Field and Seeding for 2013 Baseball National Championship Finalized

Newport News, VA – The field for the 2013 USCAA Baseball National Championship has been set. Gaining bids to the Small College World Series are The Apprentice School, Clark State Community College, University of Cincinnati-Clermont, Selma University, Southern Virginia University, Lindenwood University-Belleville, St. Joseph’s College-Brooklyn, Briarcliffe College, Penn College, and PSUAC Champion and tournament host institution Penn State Greater Allegheny.
The field will be looking up at The Apprentice School, winners of a school record 31 games and the first-place finisher in the USCAA coaches poll. The Builders, runner up in the 2012 Small College World Series, will head to Butler, Pennsylvania looking for redemption after dropping two games to Spalding University in last year’s finals.
Along with the Builders, returning for a second consecutive year is Southern Virginia University, Selma University, Clark State Community College, and Penn College. St. Joseph’s College-Brooklyn and Lindenwood University-Belleville will be making their inaugural trip to the Small College World Series. Meanwhile, University of Cincinnati-Clermont returns for the first time since 2010, and Briarcliffe College, the 2011 USCAA Baseball National Champions, and Penn State Greater Allegheny are returning after a one-year absence from the tournament.
