For the first time ever, the 2014 USCAA National Convention will feature two separate social events on Tuesday night. In year’s past the association has held its annual nine-hole golf tournament on Tuesday, complete with dinner, games, and raffle prizes. That event will return, shifting to the 3 Lakes Golf Course in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and featuring team prizes, skill contests, and refreshments on the course.
New for 2014 will be a land and water based tour of the City of Pittsburgh through Just Ducky Tours. The Ducky Tour will take riders on a duck boat through the financial district and downtown areas, as well as past PNC Park and Heinz Field on land and on the city’s three rivers. Tour guides will provide attendees with stories and facts about the city during the one hour ride. Beverages and snacks will be on-board for anyone taking the tour.
Attendees can choose to participate in either activity, but for time reasons will not be able to attend both. Those who are interested will need to register using the USCAA’s TicketLeap page. Following the activities will be an evening gathering with prizes, raffles, and heavy hors d’oeuvres at the DoubleTree Hotel.
The USCAA National Convention is being held from June 1-4th at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The event is the USCAA’s annual meeting of member institutions’ athletic directors, coaches and administrators. It will include guest speakers, professional development sessions, committee meetings, networking opportunities, sponsor and vendor displays, as well as social events.
