2016 USCAA National Convention Registration is Now Open

The 2016 USCAA National Convention will be held at the Richmond Marriott in downtown Richmond, Virginia from June 5-8, 2016.

The USCAA National Convention is an annual meeting of USCAA Athletic Directors, administrators, and coaches. The event includes Town Hall sessions on championships, ratings/selections and bylaws, business meetings, as well as professional development and social opportunities. Members are encouraged to send at least one representative.

Information on how to book your trip to Richmond, Virginia is available on the newly launched Convention website. Attendees can register for the event, book their rooms, and view a schedule of events for the 2016 National Convention on the website. Additional features include links to the legislation and town hall proposal forms, Board of Director nominations forms, the USCAA’s scheduling message board, Director’s Cup standings, and more.

Prior to April 15th, the cost of Convention registration is $205.  After April 15th, the registration cost increases to $230. Additionally, guests (spouses and children) are invited and can purchase meal tickets for an additional cost. A meal ticket gives guests access to lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as the welcome social at the Richmond Marriott on Monday night. Rooms at the Marriott start at $139 a night for a single or double occupancy. Rooms must be booked by May 13th to get the USCAA’s group rate.

This year’s convention features several unique professional develop topics important to sports administrators. Additionally, in collaboration with Richmond Region Tourism, we will host two group social events, which are outstanding networking opportunities. On Monday night there will be a welcome reception at the Richmond Marriott, featuring dinner, music, and games among other activities. Tuesday night’s social will highlight the unique history, food, and culture that Richmond has to offer. Tickets for the Tuesday night outing will need to be purchased separately on the Convention website in the coming weeks. 

Additionally, the USCAA is opening calls for legislation proposals and Town Hall discussion on Friday, April 1.  Those forms are also located on the convention website.  All proposals should be emailed to info@theuscaa.com or faxed to 757.706.3758.  If faxing forms, the USCAA will send an email receipt.  If you do not receive a receipt, your forms were not received.  A detailed email on proposals will be distributed tomorrow concerning the nominations process.
