Williamson Changes Name; Williamson College of the Trades

For Immediate Release

Media, PA- After operating for 127 years as The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades the school officially changed its name on July 1, 2015 to Williamson College of the Trades.

A postsecondary school that has been granting associate degrees in specialized technology since 1972, Williamson College of the Trades will begin using the tag line “Building Craftsmen, Instilling Character,”. It was selected as the new name because the board of trustees feel it better reflects what the school represents.

While the school has a new name, its mission has not changed. The school continues to “prepare deserving young men to be useful and respected members of society.” The athletic nickname will remain “Mechanics”.  The school’s use of royal blue as a primary color has now been switched to navy while they retain yellow as a secondary color and red as an accent color.
