USCAA Hires Phillip Hines, Director of Championships & Development

Phillip Hines joins the United States Collegiate Athletic Association staff in the role of Director of Championships and Development. He will be responsible for overseeing the national championships and sponsorship development for the USCAA.  A native of Smithfield, Virginia and former baseball player for Berea College, Hines brings his marketing experience and passion for collegiate sports to the USCAA.

“We are thrilled to have Phillip Hines joining the USCAA family,” states USCAA Executive Director Matthew Simms.  “His experiences both as a student-athlete and a young professional working for one of the largest festivals in Virginia will go a long way in the growth and development of USCAA Championships and sponsorship opportunities.  We expect Phillip to make an immediate impact on the association.”

Hines has experienced success in various marketing and special events roles with local and national companies, including the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, one of Virginia's largest outdoor weekend festivals. He has a track record of helping small businesses and national brands increase sales, expand their footprint, and experience top-line revenue growth. Hines also has a public relations background and is a nationally published author with Simon & Schuster.

“I am very excited about this opportunity,” Hines said. “As a former student-athlete, I understand the importance of college athletics and the positive impact it has on students. I look forward to serving the USCAA and fulfilling its mission.”
