SUNY ESF TAKES 2018 USCAA WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- SUNY-ESF took three of the top four spots and eight in the top 14 as they ran away with the 2018 USCAA Women's Cross Country National Championship on Friday morning amassing 25 points.  St. Mary of the Woods was second with 62 and SUNY Delhi took third witih 75.

Marissa Lathrop was the overall champion covering the 6k course at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex and Princess Anne Athletic Complex in 23:59, while Kayla Coryea of St. Mary of the Woods was second in 24:05.

Lathrop's teammates took third and fourth as Julie Romano ran 24:05 for third and Cassidy Engelson was fourth in 24:26.  Anna Wilgenbusch of the University of Dallas rounded out the top five in 24:32.  St. Mary of the Woods took sixth and seventh as Emily Truax was sixth in 24:#3 and Kendyll Schulz was seventh in 24:35.

Those seven all earned first team USCAA All-American honors.

Finishing in eighth through 14th to earn second team USCAA All-American honors included:
