National All-Academic Team and All American Nominations

The 2011 USCAA Volleyball, Soccer, and Cross Country National Championships are right around the corner.  At this time we are extending your institution the opportunity to nominate your student-athletes to the All-American and National All-Academic Teams. The forms have been updated with a new look. Please send all necessary forms (according to nomination guidelines – listed below) to the USCAA National Office. Upon receipt of your nomination, an email confirmation will be sent in reply. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 24 hours, please resubmit your nomination or contact the National Office at 757-706-3756 or 757-706-3757.

 

Nominations are due Monday, October 24th, 2011 by 5:00pm EST.

The USCAA All-American Guidelines:

To be nominated as an Athletic All-American you must meet the minimum requirements:

 All Sports

                1. Play in a sport recognized by the USCAA with a Championship tournament

                2. Participate in a minimum of 60% of regular season contests.

 

*ALL COACHES MUST RANK THE PLAYERS THEY ARE NOMINATING, #1 BEING THE ATHLETE THEY FEEL IS MOST DESERVING OF THE AWARD.

**MUST INCLUDE A HEADSHOT OF THE ATHLETE FOR A COMPLETE NOMINATION (Headshots should be emailed to the Michael.Goodman@theuscaa.com. Headshots should include the player’s name and institution either in the body of the email or attached to the jpeg picture).

 Cross Country

  • Determined by the top 7 finishers of the USCAA Cross Country National Tournament

 Soccer

  • Nominations for All-Americans shall be presented by the head coach and accompanied by a copy of all game statistics.
  • Coaches shall be able to nominate up to 4 players.
  • Player’s percentages shall include all regular season games (excluding post-season play).
  • All-Americans will be determined by a system set out by the Stats/Power Ratings Committee.
  • Each player will be ranked in comparison to other candidates.  The best all-around shall be designated as All-Americans.

Volleyball

  • Nominations for All-Americans shall be presented by the head coach and accompanied by a copy of all game statistics.
  • Coaches shall be able to nominate up to 3 players.

The USCAA All-Academic Guidelines:
  • All student-athletes (Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors at 4 year institutions and Sophomores at 2 year institutions) shall be eligible for the National All-Academic Team.
  • Overall (cumulative) grade point averages must be 3.50 (on a 4.00 point system) or greater.
  • GPA’s must be documented by way of an unofficial school transcript.
 

Please submit these forms back to the National Office before 5:00pm on Monday, October 24th to nominate your athletes as 2011 All-Americans and to the 2011 National All-Academic Team.  These forms can be faxed (757-706-3758) or emailed (Michael.Goodman@theuscaa.com) back to the National Office.
