Men’s Soccer

Player of the Week

The Men’s Soccer Player of the Week is West Virginia Tech’s Rodrigo Manzanares. In two matches, the freshman Argentinian recorded two goals and two assists to lead WVU Tech to a 2-0 record, including the decisive goal in a 3-1 win over Point Park University.

Goalkeeper of the Week

The Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week is University of Dallas senior James Kerin. The East Greenwich, RI native led Dallas to a 1-1 record during the week,  notching 12 saves in two matches, including seven in a 1-0 win over Concordia University.

Women’s Soccer

Player of the Week

The Women’s Soccer Player of the Week is Caitlin Essex. A freshman at The King’s College, Essex scored three goals and recorded an assist in her first ever collegiate game against New York Univ.-Poly.

Goalkeeper of the Week

The Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week is the University of Dallas’ Brigid Hasson. Hasson, a junior, recorded nine saves during the week, including seven in a shutout of Concordia University, to lead Dallas to a 2-0 record last week. 

Women’s Volleyball

Player of the Week

The Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week is University of Dallas sophomore Emily Caples. In four matches, Caples recorded 50 kills and hit .337 during the week. She also averaged nearly a block per set as Dallas won three of four during the week.

Setter of the Week

The Women’s Volleyball Setter of the Week is Mackenzie Mynter, a sophomore at SUNY Canton. Mynter averaged 7.4 assists per set as Canton rolled to a 3-0 record during the week. She also added 14 service aces and 11 digs as Canton lost only one set.

Golf

Player of the Week

The Golf Player of the Week is The Apprentice School’s Ben Hunter. A junior, Hunter carded a 67 at Sleepy Hole Golf Course in Suffolk, setting a school record for lowest round, including a chip-in on the 18th to break the previous record.

 

Football

Offensive Player of the Week

The Football Offensive Player of the Week is Kevin McConnell at Iowa Wesleyan. The senior quarterback from Kansas City was 14-of-23 for 191 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 191 yards on 23 carries in the 36-34 triple overtime win over Siena Heights University.

Defensive Player of the Week

The Football Defensive Player of the Week is Richard Silva at Iowa Wesleyan. The senior defensive lineman from Kirkland, Washington helped spearhead the Iowa Wesleyan defense in its 36-34 triple overtime win over Siena Heights with 13 tackles.

Special Teams Player of the Week

The Football Special Teams Player of the Week is Brenton Estorffe, a sophomore at Southern Virginia. The Australian punter had a strong opening night as his six punts went for a 40.7 average with two falling inside the Morehead State University 20 yard line. He also had four tackles in the loss to NCAA FCS opponent Morehead State.
