Newport News, VA – SUNY-Canton has been selected to host the 2012 and 2013 USCAA Volleyball National Championship. The tournament will be held at the brand new Convention, Athletic, and Recreation Center in Canton, New York. The center features a field house with basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, as well as locker room facilities and an eatery.
“The United States Collegiate Athletic Association is extremely proud to partner with SUNY-Canton to bring the 2012 and 2013 USCAA Volleyball National Championship to Canton, New York” stated USCAA Associate Director and COO Matthew Simms. “With the leadership of SUNY Canton Athletic Director Randy Sieminski and Head Volleyball Coach Carol LaMarche we’re confident that our student-athletes, coaches, and fans will have a first-class experience.”

Canton, New York is located in beautiful northern New York in an area called the North Country. The North Country is defined as the region between Lake Ontario and Lake Champlain, and the St. Lawrence River to the Adirondack Mountains. It is a region rich with history and full of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The village is centrally located in both the town of Canton and the county of St. Lawrence and has a population exceeding 6,500 people.
“The SUNY Canton Volleyball team is thrilled to host the upcoming 2012 USCAA National Championships,” said Kangaroos Head Coach Carol LaMarche. “We are looking forward to hosting the top USCAA volleyball teams in the nation for what will be a fun-filled, competitive weekend.”
