Player of the Week
Isaih Harrison, a forward from Apprentice School is the Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Harrison set a school single-game rebounding record with 25, also contributed 25 points, against Mid-Atlantic Christian University to open the season. He followed that performance up with 31 points and 19 rebounds against Davis College. Harrison closed out the MAUC showcase with 15 points and 18 rebounds against Florida Christian.
Men’s Basketball DII
Player of the Week
Justin Swift, a freshman guard from Williamson is the Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Justin set a school record by recording a double-double in the first two games of his college career. Against Lehigh Carbon Community College Justin had 32 points and 12 rebounds. He followed up that performance with a 36 point, 11 rebound effort against Christendom. Justin shot 65% from the field, on the week and added 12 assists. The Mechanics were 2-0 for the week.
Women’s Basketball
Player of the Week
Ashley Peaslee, a senior captain from University of Maine—Augusta is the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Ashley scored 55 points on the week, grabbed 18 rebounds, recorded 23 assists, and had 20 steals in a 3-0 week for the Lady Moose. Ashley’s best game came against the College of St. Joseph’s where she recorded 22 points on 71% shooting and contributed 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 7 steals. The Lady Moose are 4-0 to start the 2011-2012 season.
