Men’s Soccer

Player of the Week

Phathizwe Sacolo, a freshman Forward at University of Maine—Fort Kent, is the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. Sacolo led the Fort Kent  Men’s Soccer team to an undefeated week with wins over Daemen College, American International, and Maine Maritime. Phathizwe scored five goals and two assists on the week. Against NCAA Division II American International Sacolo registered a hat trick with three goals and for the season he leads the Maine-Fort Kent team in scoring with nine goals and three assists.

Goalkeeper of the Week

David Girouard, a junior from University of Maine-Fort Kent is the Goalkeeper of the Week. David picked up three wins on the week with a pair of shutouts for Fort Kent. Girouard’s week was highlighted by a seven save performance against American International College.

Women’s Soccer

Player of the Week

Kacie Paradie, a freshman Forward at NHTI is the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Kacie scored four goals in two games this week, highlighted by a hat trick versus NHTI rival Vermont Technical College. For the week NHTI went 1-1.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Holly Bourassa, a freshman Goalie at NHTI is the Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week. Holly made 43 out of 46 saves over three games last week. The highlight of her week was a 24 save effort versus The College of St. Joseph’s.

Volleyball

Player of the Week

Rachel Hays, a junior Middle Hitter at University of Cincinnati-Clermont, is the Volleyball Player of the Week. In four road matches this week Rachel tallied 44 kills, 11 solo blocks, 10 block assists, 10 service aces, and a hitting percentage of .449. Her efforts helped UC-Clermont win all four of their games during the course of the week. UC-Clermont is now 9-1 and 5-1 versus USCAA opponents.

Setter of the Week

Mackenzie Mynter, a freshman Setter at SUNY-Canton, is the Volleyball Setter of the Week. Mackenzie led SUNY-Canton to five straight wins this week with 88 assists, 35 kills, 12 aces, and 9 digs in 15 sets. Mynter had 18 assists and four kills in a 3-0 win over Paul Smith’s College, and then had 34 assists and 18 kills in the Roo’s 3-0 wins over Maine-Presque Isle and Maine-Fort Kent. The next day against those same schools she recorded 36 assists, 13 kills, and seven aces in two more wins.

Men’s Cross Country

Ben Palladino, a sophomore at Paul Smith’s College, is the Men’s Cross Country Player of the Week. Ben finished 6th out of 66 runners at the North Country Invitational. During the event he posted a time of 17:23 in the 5k run at the SUNY Canton course. Ben has earned the right to represent the United States in a snowshoe race in Italy on January 6, 2012.

Women’s Cross Country

Alexa Cosgro, a sophomore at Paul Smith’s College, is the Women’s Cross Country Player of the Week. In the North Country Invitational last week at SUNY Canton, Alexa recorded a 23:44 time in the 5k run finishing in 19th place overall. Cosgro was the top finisher for Paul Smith’s Women’s Cross Country team this past season at USCAA Nationals.

Co-Ed Golf

Reynold Brown, a freshman at University of Maine-Presque Isle, is the Co-Ed Golf Player of the Week. This past week Reynold was a medalist in the UMPI Invitational with a 5 over par 77, as well as a medalist at the NMCC Invitational with a 4 over par 76. Brown led the UMPI Owls to wins in both events.
