CONCORD, N.H. — NHTI, Concord’s Community College was the host site for the YSCC Men’s and Women’s Elite Eight Basketball Tournament. At the YSCC awards banquet many conference athletes, coaches, and teams were honored. The banquet was held at the Courtyard Marriott in Concord, NH.
Orman Alley of U-Maine Machias was named the YSCC Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year. Also, the Vermont Tech women were awarded with the Sportsmanship award.
The women who were named YSCC All Conference players include: Jess Hardiman (NHTI), Ashley Peaslee (UMA), Jennifer Lola (UMA), Samira Cruz (UMM), Katelyn Benson (SMCC), Sara Romano (NHTI), Danielle McCusker (CMCC), Marissa Welch (SMCC), and Kelly Festa (CSJ). Also, Katie Porier of U-Maine Augusta was named the YSCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.
On the men’s side Brac Brady of U-Maine Machias was named the YSCC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year. Winning the Sportsmanship award was Vermont Tech.
Being named men’s basketball YSCC All Conference Players were: Thelbert Green (EMCC), Zach Armstrong (UMM), Rahiem Smalls (CSJ), Dane Jobst (CSJ), Josh Mackie (SMCC), Chibunna Belonwu (PSC), Kasheen Alston (PSC), Besfort Syla (NHTI), and Ahntwan Harris (NHTI). Also being named the YSCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year was Kevin Carr of Vermont Tech.
