Raised in Massapequa, NY, Timmy began his running career at Massapequa High School. There, he joined the track team as a way to stay fit for soccer, but quickly fell in love with running. His sophomore year, he traded soccer cleats for cross country spikes.

Timmy continued running at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry from 2011-2014. Callahan secured 1^st team all-American honors in both his freshman and sophomore years, finishing the National Championship meet fourth and runner-up respectively. When SUNY ESF hosted the National Championship the following two years, Callahan won both individual National Championship titles.

Callahan is a four time National Champion – helping SUNY ESF win the men’s title each year under USCAA Hall of Fame Coach John View. During his time at ESF he set two cross country and five track and field school records and received the SUNY Chancellor’s Scholar Athlete Award.  He finished his career as one of only a handful of USCAA student-athletes to be a four-time All-American and the only student athlete to finish as both four time All-American and three-time National All-Academic winner. 

After graduating from SUNY ESF with his Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology, Timmy went on to earn a Master of Science in Forestry. Following the completion of his master’s degree, he returned to SUNY ESF for two years as an assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs while also serving with Baptist Campus Ministry at Syracuse University.

In 2017 Timmy married his best friend, Mindy and moved to Southern California where he has since been working as a utility forester.
