Championship Game
Talladega College (48) vs. Rochester College (36)
Saturday, March 6, 2010 - 4:45 p.m.
The 2010 USCAA Women’s National Championship game took
place Saturday night in Uniontown, Pennsylvania between the #2
Talladega Lady Tornados and the #7 Rochester Lady Warriors. For
most of the game, Rochester was able to hang tough, but in the end
Talladega was able to walk away with the 2010 USCAA National
Championship Trophy, posting a 48-36 victory.
Throughout the game, both Talladega and Rochester struggled
shooting from the field recording field goal percentages of 26 and
28, respectively. Tamiko Rounds, the 2010 Tournament MVP, led the
Tornados with 16 points and eight rebounds. Jessica Crook and Sam
Tomoschko each pitched in ten points for the Lady Warriors. Several
players form this game ended up on the All-Tournament Team.

Third Place Game
UC Clermont (78) vs IU-Northwest (48)
Saturday, March 6, 2010 - 10:00 a.m.
UC Clermont was able to finish off a strong performance at the
2010 USCAA National Championships with a decisive win over
IU-Northwest 78-48. The win locked up a third place finish for the
Lady Cougars.
Defensively, UC Clermont was able to frustrate IU-Northwest
throughout the game, holding the Lady Red Hawks to 23 percent
shooting from the field. Offensively, UC Clermont was led by five
players who scored in double figures. Cayla Stutz led Clermont with
13 points, while Shannon Lorenz and Kayla Howard each chipped in
eleven.
All-American Sharon Houston posted 16 points, eight rebounds, and
four blocks for the Red Hawks in the loss.

Penn State Beaver (60) vs. Robert Morris University - Springfield (45)
Saturday, March 6, 2010 - 10:00 a.m.
Top seeded Penn State Beaver finished the USCAA tournament with a two game win streak after being upset in the opening round. A fantastic game from All-American Jasmine Green led Beaver to a 60-45 victory over Robert Morris University-Springfield.
Green scored 23 points to go with six rebounds and three assists. Heather Sandusky added 16 rebounds for Beaver.
RMU Springfield was led by 18 points and six rebounds from Latoya Gipson.
Talladega College (81) vs. Indiana University Northwest (68)
Friday, March 5, 2010 - 4:00 p.m.
The second women's semifinal featured a heavyweight battle between IU-Northwest and Talladega College. Despite a monster performance from All-American Sharon Houston, the Tornado's of Talladega managed to move into the Finals posting a 81-68 victory.
Talladega was the aggressor for most of the game, playing a fast paced running attack. Five Talladega players scored in double figures, with Shakila Cole leading the way with 19. Tamiko Rounds added 17 points and ten rebounds in the victory.& nbsp;
Sharon Houston posted the first triple-double of the tournament with 35 points, 17 rebounds, and ten blocked shots in the loss for IU-Northwest.
Talladega (3-0) will move on to meet Rochester (3-0) in the 2010 USCAA Women's National Championship Game on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.. The game will be broadcast live on the YouCastr website. IU-Northwest (2-1) will face off with UC Clermont (2-1) in the third place game.

Rochester College (67) vs. UC Clermont (59)
Friday, March 5, 2010 - 2:00 p.m.
#8 UC Clermont's fantastic run in this year's tournament came up short as they lost in the semifinals to a streaking Rochester team 67-59.
#7 Rochester was led by Jessica Crook who paced all scorers with 18, while Lexy Newsom added 13 for the Warriors. Regan Hauke netted 12 points in the loss for the Cougars.
Rochester (3-0) will move on to the 2010 USCAA Women's National Championship Game against the winner of the IU-Northwest/ Talladega game. The championship game will be broadcast live on the YouCastr on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. UC Clermont (2-1) will move into the consolation 3rd place game.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (55) vs. St. Joseph's College (40)
Friday, March 5, 2010 - 12:00 p.m.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College used balanced scoring and a strong defensive performance in defeating St. Joseph's College 55-40 to win the ninth place consolation bracket.
Brittney Shaner led four Pomeroys in double figures with 16 points, and also tallied seven rebounds. Rebecca Tracy added 13 points and seven rebounds. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods outrebounded the Lady Bears 51-39.
For St. Joseph's College, Ashley McQuillan and Teresa Mangan contributed the majority of the scoring, with 18 and 14 respectively. Allison Kavanagh led the Lady Bears with 13 rebounds.
Penn State Beaver (70) vs. Spalding University (69)
Friday, March 5, 2010 - 10:00 a. m.
In a matchup between the tournaments #1 and #3 seeds, overtime was needed to decide the contest. Penn State Beaver prevailed in the extra period, winning 70-69.
Heather Sandusky led Beaver with a double-double, recording 21 points with ten rebounds. Shelby Parks also contributed 16 points and eight rebounds. They will advance to the fifth place game to play Robert Morris University Springfield at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Spalding University was paced by 25 points from Lauren Reed, who made all nine of her free throw attempts and also contributed 16 rebounds. Kelly Harrod added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Robert Morris-Springfield (70) vs. Penn State Brandywine (60)
Friday, March 5, 2010 - 8:00 a. m.
In a battle to make it to the fifth place game, #3 Robert
Morris-Springfield took on #10 PSU-Brandywine in the Main Arena.
Despite the early start time, both teams looked sharp throughout
the game. In the end, RMU-Springfield played better down the
stretch posting a 70-60 victory over the Lady Lions.
RMU-Springfield was paced by four players scoring in double
figures. Latoya Gipson led RMU, posting a double-double with a 15
point, eleven rebound effort. Sara DeBerardinis lead all scorers
with 22 in the loss for PSU-Brandywine.
RMU-Springfield (1-1) moves on to play the winner of PSU-Beaver/
Spalding in a matchup for fifth place. PSU Brandywine has been
eliminated from the tournament.
Talladega College (65) vs. Penn State Brandywine (25)
Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 8:00 p.m.
Talladega College made thir presence known in the tournament with a convincing win in their opener. The Tormadoes used a fantastic second half performance in dominating Penn State Brandywine, 65-35.
After pulling ahead 20-9 early, Talladega (1-0) was able to contain a double digit lead, going up 33-17 at the half. Talladega cruised in the second half, holding Brandywine (1-1) to eight percent shooting in the period.
Tamiko Rounds led Talladega with 22 points and 11 rebounds. They will advance to play Indiana University Northwest on Friday at 4 p.m. in the semifinal matchup. The game will be broadcast live on YouCastr.
IU Northwest (66) vs. Robert Morris University - Springfield (55)
Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 6:00 p.m.
After trailing 34-29 at the break, IU Northwest charged back in the second half to take a decisive 66-55 victory and advance to the semifinals.
IU Northwest (2-0) was led by All-American Sharon Houston, who collected 14 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks. Nina Wills also added 20 points and seven rebounds.
They will face Talladega at 4 p.m. in the Main Arena in a semifinal matchup. The game will be broadcast live on the -uscaa-womens-basketball-semifinal-2" target="_blank">YouCastr website.
For Robert Morris University (0-1), Tiara Perry led her team with 21 points and contributed four rebounds. All-American Latoya Gipson added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Rochester College (51) vs. Spalding University (36)
Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 6:00 p.m.
Rochester College put themselves into the semifinals by defeating defending champion Spalding University 51-36.
From start to finish, the Lady Warriors frustrated Spalding with stifling defense. Rochester center Sam Tomoschko recorded 15 blocks against Spalding shooters as they only managed to shoot 22.6 percent from the field.
Jessica Crook paced Rochester with 13 points, six rebounds and two steals. Kelly Harrod of Spalding led all scorers with 19 in the loss.
Rochester (2-0) will play UC Clermont (2-0) tomorrow for the chance to play in the 2010 USCAA National Championship Game. Tomorrow's game will be broadcast live on the YouCastr website. Spalding (0-1) will face PSU Beaver (0-1) Friday morning at 10 a.m.
UC Clermont (72) vs. Penn State Beaver (58)
Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 4:00 p.m.
Madness is now officially in effect at the 2010 USCAA Basketball Championships; at least in the women’s bracket that is. #1 Penn State Beaver was knocked off this afternoon by #8 UC Clermont 72-58.
After going up 19-5 early in the first half, Clermont was able to fend off several Beaver rallies to seal the victory and a spot in the semifinals. Clermont was led by Kayla Howard who contributed 25 points and eight rebounds in the victory. Beaver was led by Jasmine Green who posted 16 points for the Lady Lions.
UC Clermont (2-0) will face the winner of Rochester/Spalding in the semifinals Friday at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the YouCastr website. PSU Beaver (0-1) will move into the consolation bracket.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (51) vs. Southern Maine CC (26)
Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 12:00 p.m.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College capitalized on a strong defensive effort, and held Southern Maine CC to just 28% shooting in their 51-26 win on Thursday.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods featured several fine performance on both ends of the court. Rebecca Tracy led the Pomeroys with 14 points and added five steals. Brittney Shaner had 12 points and four steals. They will advance to face St. Joseph's in the consolation bracket.
Southern Maine received seven points and nine rebounds from Rachel Del Camp. Nicole Poland contributed six points and two assists.
St. Joseph's College (76) vs. Penn State Fayette (60)
Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 10:00 a.m.
Teresa Mangan's 20 points and Allison Kavanagh's defense highlighted St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn's 76-60 win over host Penn State Fayette.
Kavanagh's six steals were a product of strong defensive pressure from the Bears, as they forced Fayette into 28 turnovers. USCAA Honorable Mention All-American Ashley McQuillan contribued 15 points for St. Joseph's.
St. Joseph's will play the winner of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and Southern Maine CC on Friday at 12 p.m..
Penn State Fayette was led by Kayla Hatfield with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jennifer Thompson came off the bench to score 12 points.
Rochester College (63) vs. Penn State Fayette (26)
Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - 6:00 p.m.
In the last women's game of the evening, Rochester College limited host institution Penn State Fayette to eight first half points on their way to a 63-26 win.
Rochester College used a balance scoring attack with five players scoring at least eight points. Jazzmone Russell led the way for the Warriors with 12 points, sinking four three pointers in the process. Elizabeth Stockwell added ten rebounds for the Warriors.
Rochester College will advance to play Spalding on Thursday at 6 p.m.
For host Penn State Fayette, Nicole Garrity led her team with nine points and eight rebounds. Kasey Ruble contributed six points.
Indiana University Northwest (77) vs. Southern Maine CC (27)
Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - 4:00 p.m.
Juliette Keller and Sharon Houston scored 23 and 16 points respectively, helping IU Northwest cruise to a 77-27 victory over Southern Maine CC.
IU Northwest opened up the first half by scoring the first 18 points, and never looked back as they held a 41-14 lead at the half. They will advance to play Robert Morris Springfield at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Brittany Rich of Southern Maine contributed 7 points, and Rachel Del Camp added 5 points and 11 rebounds. Southern Maine will play Saint Mary-of-the-Woods at noon on Thursday.
Penn State Brandywine (48) vs. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (45)
Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - 2:00 p.m.
In a game hig hlighting two great defensive performances, Penn State Brandywine escaped with a 48-45 win over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, which trailed most of the game, evened the score at 42-42 with four minutes left on two Chelsey Barron free throws. A Brandywine three pointer from Bobbi Caprice gave Brandywine a three point lead.
After Brandywine stretched their lead to 48-45, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods was unable to convert at the buzzer as Brandywine left the victory.
Amber Chandler contributed 14 points and 18 rebounds for Penn State Brandywine. Brandywine will advance to play Talladega at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College was led by Chelsey Barron with 16 points and eight rebounds.
UC Clermont (49) vs. St. Joseph's College (45)
Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - 12:00 p.m.
In a highly competitive contest, UC Clermont scored the last five points of the game to close out St. Joseph's College in a 49-45 victory.
After falling behind by eight points at the half, UC Clermont took the lead with two Allison David foul shots with 44 seconds left. UC Clermont's Shauneece Shipman followed with a steal and a basket, and the Cougars were able to hold on for the victory.
UC Clermont will advance to play top seeded Penn State Beaver on Wednesday in a quarterfinal matchup.
Allison David led UC Clermont with 13 points, and Dawn Rapp contributed 11.
St. Joseph's Teresa Mangan led her team with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Joanna Marciniec added 8 points.
