NORFOLK, VA – On Sunday, June 11th, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) inducted the first 14 members into the association’s Hall of Fame. Included in that class were 10 Legacy Class members, recognizing individuals who made meritorious contributions to National Little College Athletic Association (NLCAA) and National Small College Athletic Association (NSCAA), the predecessors to the USCAA which began in 2001. The NLCAA was founded in 1966 and underwent a rebranding to the NSCAA in 1989.
The ceremony was held at The Main in downtown Norfolk, Virginia and led by Virginia Sports Hall of Famer, Jack Ankerson. The night featured a meet and greet between USCAA staff, current members, and the Hall of Fame class, opening reception, dinner, and award ceremony. For each inductee, a video was played highlighting their career accomplishments and each in attendance was presented with a plaque, with a Hall of Fame ring to follow. Following the proceedings, inductees were invited to the USCAA National Office for the unveiling of the Hall of Fame wall mural and digital display.
The USCAA Hall of Fame will be open to the public and available from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Admission is free. Donations to the Hall of Fame can be made payable to the USCAA and are tax-deductible.
An online Hall of Fame will be released during in late-summer, corresponding to a redesign of the association's website. Pictures and video from the event can be made available by request to info@theuscaa.com. Below is a link to the USCAA video presentations of the inductees.
