2017-2018 USCAA Directors Cup Standings - Winter

NORFOLK, VA – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has published the 2017-2018 Directors Cup standings. After the conclusion of the USCAA National Basketball Championships, which featured a total 34 men’s and women’s Division I & II basketball teams, the USCAA has announced the Winter standings for the 2017-18 Director’s Cup race.

Sliding up into the top spot, the Florida College Falcons used a strong basketball season to put them atop the standings heading into the spring. The University of Maine-Fort Kent jumped up 6th place to finish in 2nd in the standings, with Cleary University holding onto the 3rd spot, just barely ahead of Penn State Brandywine and St. Mary of the Woods. Cleary University has the opportunity to repeat as Director’s Cup champions depending on how well their baseball and softball programs finish in the spring. Of note, Penn State Brandywine is vying for a place in the top 3 of the standings, which would the first-ever for a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference school in USCAA history

After strong performances in the fall, SUNY ESF is in 6th place, SUNY Delhi at 7th place, and Florida National University in 8th place. Both Johnson & Wales University – Charlotte and Warren Wilson College moved up in the standings after strong performances in the Division II National Basketball Championships. Johnson & Wales University – Charlotte is currently in 9th place and Warren Wilson at 10th place.

Director’s Cup points are awarded for the number of sports offerings, attendance at the 2017 USCAA National Convention, and results from USCAA National Championship events. The Director's Cup winner will be announced at the 2018 USCAA National Convention, which is held in Richmond, VA on June 3, 2018. The top 20 Director’s Cup standings are linked below.
