Golf National Championships Day 1 Scores

State College, PA -- After an early morning three hour rain delay, the 2017 USCAA Golf National Championship completed the opening round in State College on the Penn State University Blue Course. Cleary University leads the men's field going into the second round with a score of 298 for 10 over par. St. Mary of the Woods College, a first year program finds themselves contenting for the National Championship with an impressive 301 on the board. The Pomeroys have Colton Kuppler, Jaret Morlan, and Benjamin Myers carded scores of 75 to be part of a 7-way tie for 7th place.

Penn State Lehigh Valley's Evan Fahs leads is sitting on top of the individual leader board with a carded score of 2 under par. Trevor Spagnoletti of Cleary University carded a round one score of 71 to find himself just one back of the leader. Both Sean Barron of SUNY ESF and Russell Herbert of SUNY Delhi finished their rounds at an even par, staying just two back of the leader Evan Fahs. The USCAA Women’s Golf Invitational is led by Carlow women's golfer Natalie Abt. The final round of the Golf National Championship will begin at 9:00 am EST on Tuesday, October 10th.
