SUNY Delhi Wins the 2018 USCAA Track and Field Invitational

This past Saturday, April 28th, SUNY Delhi hosted the third annual USCAA Track & Field Invitational featuring nine members from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. A total of 39 events were held during the invitational, attended by USCAA institutions Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Cleary University, Hampshire College, Kent State University – Tuscarawas, Penn State Fayette, Penn State Brandywine, SUNY Delhi, Unity College, and Vermont Tech.

The SUNY Delhi Broncos swept the field on the men’s and women’s side for the second consecutive year.  The Bronco’s men’s team finished with 245 points and 14 events wins and the women with 199 points and eight event wins. With another strong second place finish in the women’s invitational was Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with 139 team points. On the men’s side, Vermont Tech took second with a score of 89 points. Cleary University took the third spot in both the men’s and women’s invitational, the women finishing with a score of 82 and the men with 98 points.

As the USCAA pursues growth in Track & Field, the association plans to continue offering an invitational tournament each spring. A site has not been determined for the 2019 Track & Field Invitational. Schools that offer Track & Field and are interested in hosting the event, or are considering adding the sport in the near future, are encouraged to reach out to the USCAA National Office to become involved in future events and discussion on track and field.
