NORFOLK, VA - The 2018 All-USCAA football team was announced as seven players from each of the three institutions were recognized for their work on the football field this year. All three teams finished the season at .500 or above; Apprentice School went 9-3, Williamson College of the Trades was 6-1 and Dean College finished 4-4.
Apprentice School
Terrence Sudberry, Sr., QB, Greenville, SC
Sudberry appeared in 12 games, completing 90 passes in 172 attempts, 1529 yards, and 22 TDs. Against Middle Georgia State Univ., he completed 14 of 26 passes for 272 yards, and 4 TDs. Sudberry was named the NCFA National Championship MVP, where he was 7-17, 92 yards, and 1 TD. He added 149 yards rushing on 15 attempts and 3 TDs.
Brandon Jones, Sr. RB, Chesapeake, VA
Jones played in 11 games this season, where he rushed for 806 yards on 102 attempts. He averaged 7.9 yards per carry and had 10 TDs on the season. His best performance came against Greensboro College, where he rushed for 203 yards and 2 TDs. Jones’ longest run of the season came in the same game when he rushed for 81 yards. \
Jacobi Sapp, Fr., WR, Graniteville, SC
Sapp played in 11 games as a freshman, recording 21 catches for 700 yards and 6 TDs. His best game of the season came against Southern Virginia University, where he caught 3 passes for 134 yards and 1 TD.
His longest catch of the season went for 78 yards against Middle Georgia State University.
Kekoa Haina-Scott, Sr., OL, Panama City, FL
Started every game and was the highest graded lineman.
Isaiah Washington, So., OLB, Dover, DE
Washington appeared in 12 games, recording 45 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles for loss, 3 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, and 2 defensive TDs. Against Greensboro College, he had 5 tackles and 1 sack for a 14 yard loss.
Khris Smith, Sr., DL, Richmond, VA
Smith appeared in 12 games, where he totaled 36 tackles, 6 sacks, 12 tackles for loss and 1 forced fumble. Against Community Christian College, he had 6 tackles and 2 sacks. Smith also added 4 tackles for loss for 16 yards and 1 forced fumble.
Raekwon Jackson, Fr., CB, Graniteville, SC
Jackson played in 12 games, recording 33 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 5 Interceptions, and 3 PBU. His best game was against George Mason, where he had 2 interceptions and 1 TD. Jackson totaled 97 return yards off interceptions on the season.
Dean College
Eugene Baisden, Jr., Jr., LB, Tampa, Fla.
In ten contests, he collected 54 tackles, three interceptions and a pair of sacks in ten starts in his junior campaign. He returned an interception 27 yards for a score in the win over Alfred State and also recovered a pair of fumbles this season. His best performance of the year might have come in the win over Castleton where he finished with six tackles – three of them for loss and two sacks.
Errol Breaux, So., WR, Marietta, Ga.
Breaux was one of the region's most dynamic offensive threats, leading the conference in yards per catch (22.4) and second in the league in touchdown catches (11). He had five games of 100 yards of receiving or more, including a 229-yard, two-touchdown performance on the road at Husson. Overall, he had touchdown grabs in seven of the ten games he played in and had four games with two scoring grabs. Not to mention, Breaux ran a kickoff back 92 yards for a touchdown in loss to Western Connecticut State.
Malik Brown, Fr., DB, Miami, Fla.
The season for Brown was one not many could've expected. After appearing in 24 games a season ago on the men's basketball team, Brown made the switch to football and it immediately paid dividends. He started all ten games at safety, racking up 53 tackles, three interceptions and three pass breakups. He had 12 tackles, an interception and a pass breakup in his first game at Curry and added 12 more stops in a loss at Maritime.
London Chambers, So., LB, New Britain, Conn.
A first-team all-ECFC honoree, Chambers proved to be one of the league's premier linebackers, finishing with 67 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He was effective against the pass as well, totaling a league-best seven breakups and two interceptions.
Shannon Moxey, Jr., DB, Marietta, Ga.
Moxey anchored an entirely new secondary for Dean and that unit helped the Bulldogs finish second in the league in passing yards allowed and finish tied for first in the country in interceptions. The two-time ECFC Defensive Player of the Week, Moxey led the conference in interceptions (6), finished with six pass breakups, three forced fumbles and was named to the D3football Team of the Week in November.
Quintus Reid, Fr., WR, New Haven, Conn.
Reid, meanwhile, could be considered the region’s most versatile player. He played quarterback for a game and threw a 99-yard touchdown pass, had three rushing touchdowns and was the Bulldogs' most effective punter. His best role for Dean, however, might be as a receiver after he closed out the season with three standout receiving efforts, including a five-catch, 120-yard afternoon in a win over Gallaudet. Consider this, in eight of the nine games where Reid played receiver, he had at least one catch of 20 yards or more.
Terrell Watts, Fr. QB, New Haven, Conn.
Watts, the three-time ECFC Rookie of the Week, threw for 1,932 yards and 17 touchdowns in his inaugural season in what amounted to eight and a half games. He topped the 300-yard passing milestone on two occasions, including a 364-yard performance in the season opener at Curry. His best performance, however, might have come in the homecoming win over Gallaudet where he threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns and added a 66-yard touchdown run on the ground.
Williamson College of the Trades
Gino DiCamillo, Sr, OLB, Broomall, PA
Led USCAA in tackles and tackles per game. Had 4.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. 2017 and 2018 Seaboard Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year and was All-USCAA as well in both 2016 and 2017.
Had 13 tackles, including three for loss and a fumble recovery over rival Widener University, to snap a five-game losing streak to the Pride. Team captain in 2018 and also a two-time Defensive MVP. Team leader in tackles the past three years.
David Williams, Jr., RB, Philadelphia, PA
Averaged over 100 yards rushing per game and his 608 yards rushing were the most by any Williamson back in 18 years. He was second on the team in scoring and also added four pass receptions and returned two punts for a 13.0 average. He opened the season with 133 yards against SUNY-Onondaga and never looked back. Had the game winning TD against arch rival Thaddeus Stevens, snapping an 11-game losing streak to the Bulldogs.
DaVon Lewis, Sr., C, Chester, PA
All USCAA last season and a two-time All Seaboard Conference first team selection. Helped lead Williamson to its highest rushing total in over 18 years. He was All- Seaboard Conference at left tackle in 2017 and made the transition to All Seaboard Conference at center in 2018. Incredibly mobile for his size, he is equally adept at pass and run blocking.
Jack Gibson, Jr., CB, Rutledge, PA
A true “shut-down” cornerback, he had three interceptions in his first collegiate game last year and added two more in his first game this year! All USCAA in 2017, he had an even better season this year. He finished tied for second in the USCAA with three interceptions, despite teams throwing away from him. He was fifth in tackles with 26 and also added three pass break-ups.
DeJuan Outlaw, Sr., All-Purpose, Sr., Elkton, MD
An All USCAA member in 2017, he was just named the Seaboard Conference All Purpose Player of the Year for the second straight year! Coming off a fantastic year in 2017, he once again proved invaluable in 2018. He led the team in receptions while averaging 22.3 yards per catch. He was second on the team in rushing and led our team in scoring with 26 points. He also was our punter, averaging 34.7 yards per punt on 31 punts and averaged 21.0 yards a kick returner. Trailing Community Christian College 8-0 at half, he was moved to quarterback and engineered a comeback win to give Williamson its most wins since 1983.
Quincey Williams, Jr., DL, Conshohocken, PA
He was second on our team in tackles with 44, while leading in sacks (5) and added five tackles for loss. A dominant run stopper as well, his best game was against Community Christian College where he had 11 tackles, and had a strip and fumble return for a touchdown to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, a game Williamson eventually pulled out for a win. He was named a first team All Seaboard Conference selection in 2018, after earning second team honors in 2017.
Tyler Beasley, Sr., ILB, Chester Springs, PA
Our team co-Defensive MVP last year, he played with an injured shoulder this year and still finished third on our team in tackles with 36. He also added 4 tackles for loss, one sack and led our team with three fumble recoveries. He also led our team in forced fumbles with two. His 13 tackles and key fumble recovery against George Mason helped Williamson come away with a big road win.
