USCAA Announces the Creation of the President's Cup

USCAA Announces the Creation of the President's Cup

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) is proud to announce the creation of the President’s Cup. The trophy will be given to the member institution that achieves the highest academic point total for the year. The winner will be announced during the Hall of Fame Dinner at the annual National Convention.

The rankings system will be comprised of three different factors, each weighted equally. The first will focus on individual sport GPA and seeks to create competitiveness amongst your own programs internally. Each sports program will be ranked amongst member institutions in the same sport. Once ranked, each program will receive a rank relevant to other member institutions. The top five scores for each institution will be taken to create a composite score, which will be used to rank you against all other institutions.  This will be called the top five program ranking.

Secondly, members will award points for each student-athlete named to the National All-Academic team. To be named, students-athletes must have completed 24 credit hours before the start of the season and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Member institutions will be ranked in order of All-Academic recipients for a composite score.

The final factor that will be calculated is the average team GPA for the entire athletic department. All sports for which the athletic department oversees, will submit their team GPA. The average team GPA per school will be calculated then ranked amongst all members with points to be awarded based upon finish.  The inaugural President’s Cup Champion will be presented to the college President and Athletic Director on June 2, 2019 in Norfolk, Virginia.
