Penn State Greater Allegheny Baseball Player Signs Contract with the Railroaders of the KIT

MCKEESPORT, PA - Penn State Greater Allegheny freshman Corey Collins (Princeton, Pa./Laurel) has signed a contract to play baseball this summer for the Fulton Railroaders. The team, which is based in Kentucky, is a member of the Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee (KIT) Baseball League. The Railroaders captured the 2007 KIT Championship with an overall record of 32-18.  Collins, who pitches and plays the outfield, becomes the first non-Division I or Division II baseball player to sign with the team.

The KIT League is one of the oldest collegiate summer leagues in the country. It began play in 1903. The league features teams from the following cities: Fulton, K.Y.; Union City, Tenn.; Sikeston, Mo.; Farmington, Mo.; Owensboro, K.Y.; and Dawson Springs, K.Y. Each team is composed of 22 players and plays a 50-game schedule starting June 1.

The USCAA congratulates Corey for his accomplishments.
