South Portland, ME - The SMCC Athletic Department has partnered with Liberty Mutual. This partnership has allowed for a new initiative. Liberty Mutual and the Athletic Department will be selecting a male and female Athlete of the Month for each month during the school year.
The Liberty Mutual Student- Athletes of the Month are selected on the basis of the all-around student-athlete. The characteristics of the student- athlete must exemplify not only athletic prowess, but effort and excellence in the classroom. The candidate is not solely judged on points scored, but rather on their contribution to the team’s effort, leadership, integrity, dedication to team, campus involvement, and the ability to serve as the role model for current and future SMCC student- athletes.
The SMCC Athletic Department and Liberty Mutual have team up and selected Cady Gagnon (Biddeford, ME and Tommy Stirling (Gorham, ME) as the September Athletes of the Month. Both Gagnon and Stirling exemplify the qualities of this great honor both on and off the field.
