Lady Lions Labor for Girls Hope on Labor Day Weekend

Sunday, September 5, 2010 – Baden, PA – The Penn State Beaver Women’s Basketball Team helped clean the Girls Hope of Pittsburgh’s residential facility in Baden, PA.

The Lady Lions, under the direction of Girls Hope Community Resource Coordinator, Bridget Cook, swept, mopped, dusted, polished and scrubbed various rooms in the facility to help ease the burden of the house members.

The Lady Lions continued their commitment to their ongoing community service campaign for women’s organizations during the 2010-2011 academic year.

Girls Hope’s mission is to “help academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become women for others by providing value-centered, famly-like homes, opportunities and education through college.” Girls Hope originated in Pittsburgh in 1991.
