The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team continued to roll on Sunday afternoon, as the Knights silenced Penn State Lehigh Valley by a score of 7-1. With the victory, Berkeley College won its fourth consecutive game to start the 2017 season, and the team is 4-0 for the first time in its program's history. Following th victory, Head Coach Bruno Ferreira praised his team's early-season efforts.

"Winning boils down to a few key factors – trust, communication, and execution," Ferreira said. Right now, our players are doing a great job of working together, and the results are showing on the field. We're just trying to continue to improve and put victories in the win column. I'm very proud of the season we're having thus far."

Berkeley College put this one away early, getting goals from Shabthai Abellard, Daniel Romain (from James Ashun), and Kevin Soares (from Tiago Da Costa) within the opening 15 minutes of the contest. At that juncture of the contest, Ferreira would take his goaltender Robert Parker out of the game, while inserting Wily Peralta into the contest to defend the net.

Penn State Lehigh Valley was able to get on the scoreboard 34:00 into the match when Aaron Wagner scored an unassisted goal to pull his team to within two goals at 3-1. That score would remain unchanged as the first half came to a close.

In the second stanza, the Knights continued their offensive eruption, getting goals from Da Costa (46:00), Gregory Poposki (63:00, from Ashun), Ashun (69:00), and Julius Rivas (82:00). Berkeley College would not allow another goal to the Nittany Lions, going on to win the contest by six goals (7-1).

The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, as Berkeley will travel to York, PA for a match against Penn State York. Start time for that contest is scheduled for 4:00pm.
