Volleyball Closes Out Competition at Elmira Tournament

 

ELMIRA, N.Y. (September 9, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team closed out competition on Saturday at the two-day Elmira College Tournament with defeats to Cazenovia, 3-0, and Alfred State, 3-1. Regan Hubner and Taylor Tsatsis both led the Broncos with eight kills over the two matches. SUNY Delhi fell to Elmira, 3-0, Friday night to start the tournament.

 

Against Cazenovia, Tsatsis and Haylee Lefebvre led the Broncos with five kills, as the Wildcats posted 25-20, 25-15 and 25-19 set victories. Both sides finished with 16 total kills. Tsatsis also had a match-high five blocks, including four solo. Kyoko Shimizu led the team with 13 digs, while setter Emma King had 14 assists and three service aces. Mikayla Catherman collected seven digs.

 

Despite dropping the first two sets to Alfred State, 25-6 and 25-17, the Broncos rallied to win set three by a 25-20 score before the Pioneers won set four, 25-12. Regan Hubner totaled a team-high six kills, with Kristen Maslanka second with four kills. Shimizu tallied 15 digs, while King again gathered 14 assists with four service aces. Lefebvre led the match with two kills, both solo.
