New Jersey men's soccer team records second straight victory as Knights silence Lions, 1-0

The Berkeley College (NJ) men's soccer team won its second consecutive game, as the Knights defeated Penn State York by a score of 1-0 Saturday afternoon in York, PA. With the victory, Berkeley improved to a record of 3-5 on the 2014 campaign, while the Lions fell to a record of 3-3-1.

After the teams played a scoreless first half, the lone goal of the game came off of the foot of Berkeley College's Pedro Dos Santos, as at the 63:00 mark, he received a low cross pass from Carlos Gutierrez and tapped the ball into the net to give his team a 1-0 advantage. That one goal edge would hold up for Knights netminder Christian Vidreiro, as he only needed to make one stop on the afternoon to record the shutout.

The Knights out-shot the Lions by a count of 17-4 on the day, while also attempting seven corner kicks to Penn State York's five. Berkeley was whistleled for 10 fouls on the day compared to seven for the Lions.

Berkeley will look to push its winning streak to three games on Saturday afternoon, as the Knights will take to the road to battle DeSales. Start-time for that game is scheduled for 3:30pm.
