Men's Soccer Clobbers Cooper Union

The King's College Men's Soccer team improved their record to 3-0 to start the season with a 9-1 win against Cooper Union. The wind and driving rain didn't seem to have too much effect on the Lions as they have now scored 28 goals to just 3 against.

King's got on the scoreboard just three minutes into the game as freshman Spencer Smith rifled a shot past the Cooper Union goalkeeper from about 17 yards out. But Cooper Union tied it up 11 minutes later when Casey He launched a rocket from 30 yards out that found its place just under the crossbar. But that would be the only goal Cooper Union would score as King's scored eight unanswered goals.

Spencer Smith scored three more goals in the first half giving him four for the game at 19:40, 25:10, and 41:32. Edwin Loefgren assisted on two of these goals and Isaiah Williams helped on the other as King's took a 4-1 lead into the halftime break.

The Lions kept it rolling in the second half when Jacob Bunce scored unassisted in the 57th minute. Edwin Loefgren scored his 6th goal of the season when Anton Soerlin sent him in on a breakaway just two minutes later. Luke Kerley got on the scoresheet when Michael Huber set him up at 73:06. Josiah Simons closed out the scoring when he added his 5th and 6th goals of the season, both unassisted, at 79:20 and 83:38.
