Cardinals defeat USCAA D-1 Silver Lake

With a record of 2-4, the Lady Cardinals take the five hour drive to Wisconsin to play against the Silver Lake College Lakers.

Although being exhausted from the long ride, the Cardinals managed well against the Laker's man-to-man defense and were winning at the half 32 to 27. In the second half, the Lakers came out in a 1-3-1 defense which took the Cardinals for surprise and gave them some trouble. The Cardinals were up 49 to 46 with under a minute to go in the game. Silver Lake calls a timeout to draw up a play which works out for them and Arielle Flores scores the 3 pointer to tie the game. But with 6 seconds left on the clock, it gives the Cardinals one last chance. The Lakers are pressing up and the ball is inbounded to Caitlyn Fowler who throws the ball across the court up to Taylor Hicks who sees Danielle Walker cutting down the lane, passes to her, and Danielle shoots and the ball banks in the basket. The Lady Cardinals win 51 to 49 thanks to Danielle Walker who had 24 points.
