Loefgren Powers Men's Soccer to Road Win

The King's College Men's Soccer team defeated the College of Saint Elizabeth Eagles on Wednesday afternoon in Morristown, New Jersey.

The Lions opened up a 1-0 lead just ten minutes into the game when sophomore William Walker's cross found freshman Edvin Loefgren in the box where the freshman slammed a volley into the back of the net. Loefgren struck ten minutes later to give King's a 2-0 lead when he put home his own rebound on a shot the Saint Elizabeth keeper could not cleanly handle.

King's led 2-0 heading into the halftime break, but when play resumed Nick Riggio of Saint Elizabeth scored an unassisted goal to cut the King's lead to 2-1 at the 57 minute mark. But Loefgren struck again just two minutes later after receiving a pass from freshman Spencer Smith. The strike gave the Lions a 3-1 lead and a three goal hat trick for Loefgren as he notched his third, fourth and fifth goals of the season.

Spencer Smith added his second assist of the game when he found freshman Luke Kerley for a score at 77:01. This extended the King's lead to 4-1 which was the final score as King's improved to 2-0 on the season behind senior goalkeeper Benjamin Borchelt who had four saves in the game.
