Brandywine Knocked Off By No. 2 Maine Fort Kent

MEDIA, Pennsylvania – Maine Fort Kent, the national runner-up last season in USCAA men's soccer, scored five times during the first half and rolled to a 8-0 victory over Penn State Brandywine on Sunday afternoon.

Ben Kluvers scored twice during the first half for the Bengals, who featured seven different goal scorers.

Brandywine tallied just two shots on goal, off the foot of James Cellucci (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) during the first half and one from Eduardo Gil Matos (Folsom, Pa./Wesleyan Academy) during the second half.

Freshman goalkeeper Joe Opdenaker (Lenni, Pa./The Christian Academy) played the first 60 minutes and stopped 12 shots, while Will Scott-Norris (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant) finished the game in goal, blocking two shots.

Brandywine (6-8, 5-1 PSUAC) is idle until Saturday when it visits Penn State Wilkes Barre.
