PSU Scranton fought hard in a tough match on Saturday on the road against PSU York. In the first half freshman midfielder, Christian Toussaint put Scranton on the board with a goal in the 38th minute bringing the score to 2-1 in the first half. Late in the second half Toussaint struck again on an assisted goal by freshman midfielder, Pat Ryder in the 81st minute followed closely with a goal by senior midfielder, James Cole in the 84th minute. Sadly for Scranton, York came back with three late goals in the last two minutes securing the 7-3 win. Throughout the contest, York pounded 21 shots at sophomore goalkeeper, Brandon Hall who racked up an impressive 15 saves for Scranton. With a combination of good passing from the midfielders and exceptional defense, Scranton produced their best team effort of the season. With the addition of exceptional play from Taylor Randazzo, Summer Czekaj, Ariel Russell, Rachel Lewis and Abby Mecca, women who joined the Lions from the women's team, the Lions have begun to find a flow on the field. Scranton will go to battle against PSU Beaver at home on October 1 for their home opener at 1 PM.
