Broncos Jump to 2-0 with 74-45 Win at PSU Greater Allegheny

MCKEESPORT, Pa. (November 5, 2017) – Just less than a day after beating Penn State Fayette in comeback fashion, the SUNY Delhi women's basketball squad posted a more sizeable 74-45 road win at Penn State Greater Allegheny on Sunday. The Broncos took control of the game from the outset, and were backed by Camryn McDonald's second straight double-double with 11 points and 20 rebounds, along with a game-high 23 points from Samiaya Salley and 21 markers from Kiera Holland.

Leading, 17-6, after the first quarter, Delhi kicked into another gear in the second, taking a 38-17 lead into halftime. The second half was more of the same, as the Broncos posted their largest lead at 71-36 with 3:40 to play in the game.

Sam Acuna was the fourth Bronco to score in double figures Sunday, netting 16 points and just missing out on a double-double with nine rebounds, including four offensive. She made 7-of-13 from the field. Salley, continuing her prowess from the charity stripe, shot a perfect 7-for-7 on free throws, and made 8-of-15 from the floor. Holland connected on 10-of-22 shots.

Despite not making a 3-pointer on seven attempts, the Broncos shot 43.7 percent from the field (31-for-71), compared to just 25.0 percent (19-for-76) from the Lions. Delhi also controlled the rebounding battle, 49-33, and converted 19 PSUGA turnovers into 18 points. The Broncos shot 12-for-18 from the free-throw line, while the Lions made 6-of-13.
