Penn State Wilkes-Barre fall 80-52, lose season series against Penn State Hazelton

(Hazelton, PA) – Penn State Wilkes-Barre was unable to slow down hot Penn State Hazelton Tuesday night. Deanna Thomas and Majeedah Nealy scored 13 and 12 points respectively to be the only Wilkes-Barre players in double figures.

Starting off the first quarter Penn State Hazelton jumped out to an early 18-3 on poor shooting from Wilkes-Barre. This was the story for much of the first and second quarter as Hazelton utilized small runs to slowly pull away and lead by 20 at intermission.

In the third and fourth quarter Wilkes-Barre shot better than the first half but Hazelton was too much handle, answer all of Wilkes-Barres scoring.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre returns to action Friday at home against Penn State Brandywine. The matchup is scheduled for a 6:00 start.
