BRYN ATHYN, Pennsylvania -- Penn State Brandywine won its seventh-straight volleyball match as the Lions knocked off Bryn Athyn 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-19) in a trio of tightly-contested sets on Thursday night.
Brandywine, which improved to 14-3 and defeated Bryn Athyn for the second time this season, received nine kills from Halee Kusner (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley), while Molly Nichols (Lenni, Pa./Penncrest) added eight.
Nichols also posted five of Brandywine's 10 blocks, while Nicole Costa (Lansdowne, Pa./Upper Darby) tallied a block and four kills.
Kim Russo (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) led all players with 15 digs and Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) added 12 digs along with seven kills. Kelsi Wiest (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) totaled 11 digs on defense.
Miranda Biondi (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) dished out 31 assists for the second time this season against Bryn Athyn and added a pair of blocks.
Brandywine is back on the road Saturday at Penn State Mont Alto beginning at 2:00 pm.
