DELHI, N.Y. (February 3, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team got hot at all the right times Saturday against SUNY Canton, scoring the first 12 points of the contest and dominating the fourth period for a 60-54 victory. The win gave the 15-9 Broncos a season sweep of the Roos after previously taking a 69-67 victory at their place on Jan. 23. Saturday's win was also Delhi's third win in its last four contests.

Delhi, who was ranked 12th in the latest USCAA Coaches' Poll, enters its final four games with a chance to land an at-large bid for the USCAA Division II Tournament, hosted by Penn State Fayette. Head coach Vicki Andruszkiewicz's team heads out on the road for rematches with Alfred State on Feb. 10 and Villa Maria Feb. 11, followed by a road meeting at Cazenovia on Feb. 15 and a second encounter with Central Penn at home on Feb. 17. The Broncos won their first contests this year versus the Vikings and Knights.

Samiaya Salley led Delhi Saturday with 21 points. Camryn McDonald logged her 17th double-double of the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds, making 8-of-9 free throws, including a perfect 7-of-7 in the fourth quarter to help clinch the victory. Kiera Holland scored 11 points, while Katie Herba logged eight points and eight rebounds. Diana Echols finished with two points and four boards.

The Broncos started off the game with a 12-0 run, holding SUNY Canton scoreless for just over the first five-and-a-half minutes. The Roos, however, slowly closed the gap during the second quarter to trail, 28-23, at the half, and eventually taking a 40-38 lead after three quarters. The Broncos regained control in the fourth quarter, taking the lead for good after an and-one by McDonald put Delhi up, 43-42, with 8:33 remaining. McDonald's classic 3-pointer prompted an 11-2 scoring run over the next four minutes, with Canton getting no closer than three points the rest of the way. McDonald made up six of Delhi's final seven points, all coming on free throws.

Salley grew her career points total to 966, putting her 34 points away from joining Jennifer LePinnet-Clark (2002-04) on becoming the second Bronco ever to tally 1,000 career points, and the second to reach the mark in just two years. LePinnet-Clark scored 1,033 points in her two years at SUNY Delhi before transferring to Manhattan College.
