Broncos Run Into Undefeated Florida National

DELHI, N.Y. (September 29, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi men's soccer team's two-match win streak came to an end Friday as the Broncos played host to undefeated Florida National. The attack-heavy Conquistadors outshot the Broncos by a 40-5 margin on their way to a 6-0 victory to put Delhi back to .500 at 4-4.

After 15 opening minutes of scoreless action, Florida National got on the board with a Pedro Veiga goal. Veiga struck again some 17 minutes later after he gathered a rebound from an Onezimo Fransisco shot that hit the crossbar to give the Conquistadors a 2-0 lead going into halftime. FNU's four scores in the second half came courtesy of Rodrigo Costa, Davis Ochoa Victor Aguiar and Marcos Shimizu.

Delhi goalies Marcos Andrino and Corey O'Toole split time in net, with both combining for 12 saves, along with the defense coming up with one team save. Andrino played nearly 80 minutes, gathering nine saves, before O'Toole came in for the final ten minutes, where he had three saves. Matthew Cassidy, Jostin Sarmiento and Jacob Zinkievich each had a shot on goal for the Broncos. Florida National finished with a 19-3 advantage in shots on goal.
