Albany, NY - The ACPHS Men's Soccer Team hosted the Vikings of Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday, September 17 in front of a great crowd of students, parents and community members. Both teams came out of the gates with energy and enthusiasm. The Panthers struck first when
Jack Hanlon netted a goal on a penalty kick in the opening half.
At the start of the ,second half HVCC began to apply more pressure on the Panthers who were once again supported by great play in net from
Matt Houlihan. At 20:29 in the second half the Panthers were awarded a penalty kick and
Mina Ishak squeezed one past HVCC net-minder Alec Volans.
Following numerous fouls, the Panthers began to face more and more attacks from the Vikings. At 20:45 in the second half, a penalty kick was awarded to HVCC and Giacomo Giglio was able to connect. Shortly after closing the gap, HVCC once again found the back of the goal as Connor McMahon got one past
Matt Houlihan.
Both teams continued to battle back and forth until the final horn, closing the great match at a 2-2 tie.
The ACPHS Panthers next travel to Paul Smith's College on Saturday, September 20 at 3:00 pm where they will look to get back in the "W" column.
