Women's Volleyball Opens Season With Win

On Saturday The King's College Women's Volleyball team traveled to Rosemont College in Pennsylvania for a season opening match.

With six freshmen on the roster for the Lady Lions, nerves might have been a factor as Rosemont took the first set 29-27. But King's woke up to take the second set 25-12 knotting the match at 1-1. The Lady Lions then won 25-22 and 25-16 to take the match by a 3-1 score.

Senior Isabelle Sandmeyer got her season off to a strong start with 26 kills and 12 digs. Savannah White had 6 assists, 4 service aces and 8 digs. Freshman Samantha Klozik made her collegiate debut with 9 kills, 6 service aces and 12 digs. Fellow freshman Leah Thomas chipped in with 2 kills. Sophomore Hope Feller had 28 assists and 10 digs. Freshman Ruby Anastacio had a kill and a dig. Freshman Renae Maganza had a kill and 2 assists. Freshman Sasha Conner had 2 kills and 2 digs. Freshman Kyra Kleinsmith had 2 kills and 13 digs.

The victory gets the season started off in a positive way for Coach Alexandra Salavitch and her young squad.
