Lions Extend Shutout Streak In 4-0 Triumph

MONT ALTO, Pennsylvania -- Pat O'Neill (Morton, Pa./Ridley) posted his second shutout of the season and Penn State Brandywine blanked a PSUAC opponent for the fifth-straight time as the Lions toppled Penn State Mont Alto 4-0 on Saturday.

A trio of Brandwine goalkeepers (O'Neill; Will Scott-Norris; Joe Opdenaker) have combined to record a shutout streak of 453:47 against PSUAC teams dating back to Sept. 19. O'Neill stopped all five shots he faced during 90 minutes of action on Saturday.

Dan Tyler (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) got Brandywine started offensively by netting his fourth goal of the year during the ninth minute. Bill Walleekendeh (Chester, Pa./Chester) tacked on a goal eight minutes later off an assist from Tyler, giving Brandywine a two-goal lead at the half.

Eduardo Gil Matos (Folsom, Pa./Wesleyan Academy) provided the third goal for Brandywine early in the second frame, while Walleekendeh's penalty kick capped the scoring in the 78th minute.

Walleekendeh has been dominant against PSUAC teams in his career, scoring in all six league contests this season and 16-straight PSUAC regular season matches since his freshman campaign. His 12 goals this fall lead the team.

Brandywine (6-7, 5-1 PSUAC) returns home to face Maine Fort Kent Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
