Volleyball Shows Fight in 3-1 Defeat Against Sage in Season Opener

DELHI, N.Y. (September 6, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team opened their season tonight against The Sage Colleges, falling to the Gators by a 3-1 score. Regan Hubner led the Broncos with eight kills, while libero Mikayla Catherman gathered 19 digs and setter Emma King had 24 assists.

The Gators took the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-10, but the Broncos bounced back to win the third set, 25-19. Both sides battled closely in the fourth set, with the score tied at 13-13 halfway through the set. Sage took the next two points, and never looked back, clinching the match with a 25-21 fourth-set victory.

Kristen Maslanka and Taylor Tsatsis each finished with seven kills, with Maslanka also gathering nine digs and Tsatsis collecting two blocks, including one solo. King also tallied seven digs and three service aces, with Sabra Wilson registering five kills and five digs. Hubner also had five digs. Haylee Lefebvre finished with four kills.
