MEDIA, Pa. -- Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) scored two first-half goals to give the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team a 2-1 edge at the break, but Bryn Mawr scored twice in the second half and defeated the Lions 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Banks gave the Lions a 1-0 edge less than three minutes into the game after she found the back of the net off a feed from Rachel Weir (Neptune City, N.J./Red Bank Regional).
The Owls evened the scored in the 24th minute, but Banks found herself all alone with a wide open goal and deposited her second score of the game and 81st of her career at the 35:47 mark, giving the Lions a one-score lead at halftime.
Bryn Mawr struck for a pair of goals midway through the second half as Elizabeth Hummel knotted the count at 2-2 with her second goal and Hannah Oxendine gave the Owls the lead with 22:30 to play.
The Owls racked up 28 shot attempts, but Brandywine goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) kept the Lions in the game by making eight stops. Banks tallied seven of Brandywine's eight shots.
The Lions were unable to put a shot on goal during the final 45 minutes as Bryn Mawr reserve goalkeeper Carlie Hanson went untested to earn the win.
Brandywine (0-3) is back at home Wednesday to host Ursinus at 4:30 pm.
