Lions Downed By North Carolina Wesleyan

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team returned to the court for the first time in three weeks and was defeated 104-54 by North Carolina Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

Brandywine (4-7) received 15 points, all in the first half, from Cyrie Spencer (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park), while Kenneth Murphy (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington Carver) added 11 points and Marcus Turner (Claymont, Del./Chichester) netted 10.

NCW shot a scorching 56 percent from the field and forced 29 Lion turnovers, scoring 48 points off those miscues. The Battling Bishops also knocked down nine three-pointers and held a 40-24 edge on the boards.

The Bishops used a 15-3 run late in the first half to establish a 30-point lead and led 55-27 after 20 minutes. NCW did not relent during the second half, leading by as many as 52 points.

Brandywine plays its first road game in 36 days on Thursday when it travel to Central Penn for a 8:00 pm game.
