This week’s USCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor goes to Lewis Applegate of Robert Morris University-Springfield. With his team riding a 10-game losing streak, Applegate stepped up to the mound and helped lead his team to two victories last week. The junior pitcher entered game one of a doubleheader versus Principia College (NCAA division III) with a one run lead and he delivered for his team as he recorded the save without giving up a hit. Applegate continued his performance by starting game two of the doubleheader and pitched a complete game win while striking out 12 batters and allowing only 4 hits and 1 run.
