Penn College Wins 2008 USCAA Golf National Invitational

 

STATE COLLEGE, PA. - Penn College kept its first day lead as they carded a 313 in day two and won the 2008 USCAA National Golf Invitational held at Penn State University Blue Course on Tuesday.

The victors ended with a two-day total of 618 to win the title by 11 strokes over Penn State-Wilkes Barre as they shot the lowest round of day two with a 304 for a 629 total.  Apprentice School carded a 317 in round two to take third place with a 645 total.

Chris Martin, a freshman for the Apprentice School, held onto his first round lead to take medalist honors with a 148 after his second straight 74.  Mike Haley from Penn State Wilkes-Barre shot the low round of the tournament in day two with a 71 to finish second with a 149.
