Samantha Varela of Penn State Hazelton earns this week’s Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. The sophomore allowed just three hits on one walk, striking out four in a victory of Penn State Schuylkill. In her second appearance for the week, Varela pitched a perfect game, no-hit effort, striking out a season high 10 batters. Penn State Hazleton is now on a six game winning streak entering the heart of their Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) schedule.
