Shawuana Owens of Villa Maria College has been named USCAA Women’s Division II Basketball Player of the Week. The Villa Maria Vikings were 3-0 last week thanks to the play of Owens. The junior from Buffalo, New York averaged a triple-double for the week including a 26-point, 13 rebound, and 13 assist performance against Pitt-Titusville. In her next game, Owens tallied a line of 31 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in a double overtime victory over USCAA Division I member Bluefield State College. She finished the week with another triple-double, 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists over College of St. Joseph’s Vermont. On the week Owens averaged 24.7 points, 12 rebounds, 10.3 assists, and four blocks.
