University of Cincinnati-Clermont Wins the 2018 USCAA Women's Division II National Championship

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Taylor Greene scored the first goal and assisted on the second as the Cougars made that hold up as University of Cincinnati-Clermont defeated Penn State Brandywine 2-0 to win the 2018 USCAA Women’s Division II National Championship on Monday.

Greene got the Cougars on the board at the 23:42 mark with a blast into the far corner.   Nearly five minutes later, she found Hailey Richey streaking down the sideline and connected with her for the insurance goal at the 28:21 mark.

UC Clermint peppered Emily Bush in the net in the first half outshooting Brandywine 9-1.   The Lions regained some momentum in the second half, but couldn’t get one past Anna Tessoff who recorded the shutout with three saves.

Cincinnati Clermont finished the season with a 14-2 record having finished with a nine-match winning streak.

The 2018 USCAA All-Tournament team was announced post-match and Greene joined teammates Sara Ventura, Destiny Golden and Most Valuable Player Taylor Malucky on the team.  Penn State Brandywine was represented by Brianna Banks, Arianna Segich and Emily Jefferson on the All-Tournament team.
