#1 University of Maine at Fort Kent 2 - #5 Alfred State College 1

In the first semifinal game of the 2013 USCAA Women's National Championship, #1 University of Maine-Fort Kent (UMFK) defeated #5 Alfred State College, 2-1.  The Bengals gained the advantage quickly after the start of the match with a goal by Marie-Laurence Monta in the first minute of play.  Alfred State was able to settle down from there in what ended up as a back and forth game.

UMFK would keep pressure on Alfred State throughout, having several shots bounce off the crossbar, until they were finally able to put in an insurance goal by USCAA First Team All-American, Katherine Ferland, in the 84th minute of play.  The Alfred State Pioneers answered back quickly with a goal scored by Hannah Holmok off a penalty kick in the 88th minute. However, the Pioneers comeback attempt stalled afterward and the Lady Bengals edged out the victory.

With the win, UMFK moves onto the 2013 USCAA Women's National Championship game on Saturday, November 2nd at Trace Fork Field at 1:00pm.  University of Maine-Fort Kent will face Daemen College in the National Championship game, a rematch of last year's finals which were won by Daemen College.
