Ramin, Ferland, and Cope Claim Women's Soccer Individual Awards

COACH OF THE YEAR: Dan Ramin • SUNY ESF

In 2014, Coach Ramin guided ESF's non-athletic scholarship womens soccer program into a high USCAA team standing. Ramin founded the program 5 years ago and has guided many student-athletes to success both on and off the field. His team's success this year is a testament to his coaching knowledge base and ability to motivate his players. 

  • 2014 Overall Record: 13-2 | 2013 Overall Record: 10-3-1 
  • Team earned #2 Seed in the 2014 USCAA Soccer National Championships
  • In 2014: Coached 3 First Team All-Americans and 1 Second Team All-American

STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Sarah Cope • Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Sarah Cope not only leads her team in scoring, and is a captain, she maintained a 3.9 GPA as a student at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in their rigorous Physicians Assistant Program. She participates in community service events regularly including Relay for Life, making strides against breast cancer, Special Olympics, and encourages her teammates to do the same. Sarah spends her summers in Honduras volunteering her time in a medical clinic, providing health care for those that can't afford it, and also helped to coordinate a Special Olympics weekly soccer clinic on campus that her and her teammates help run. Sarah excels academically, athletically, and is committed to making the world a better place.
