Dine Men win USCAA Cross Country Championships

BUENA VISTA, Va. (Oct. 27, 2006) -  Dine College took the top spot in the men's United States Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country National Championship at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista, Va.

Dine won the men's 8k race with a team score of 30 and was led by Jacob Kirwa's meet-winning time of 27:01. Freshman Casey Cheever of SVU was second at 27:31 and he was followed by Tony Perez of Dine (27:48) and Jeff White of SVU (27:58). Dine's other scorers were Aaron Johnson (sixth), James Nduyti (seventh) and Cody Tipler (13th).

Rounding out the men's teams in finishing order were Lyndon, Warren Wilson, NHTI, Rhema and Columbia Union.

The men's All-Americans were Kirwa, Cheever, Perez, White, Johnson, Nduyti and Bobby Penney (Lyndon). The All-America honors were the second for White.

On Thursday night the USCAA announced the Academic All-America team. Following is a list of the honorees:
